At the age of 43, I have finally landed the job of my dreams. I am officially the Marketing Director for DASON Fire & Water Restoration. Who doesn’t love marketing?? Meeting new people, being out and about, and educating the world of the services my company offers…..oh wait. I’m not sure what exactly we do myself. I have worked at a law firm, been a bartender, and even worked in the trash business but restoration is something I know nothing about. What do I know about roof repair, smoke smells, water damage, hail, how to clean up after a sewer line has busted, and insurance adjusters? Luckily I work for the best boss ever and he is as eager as I am for me to learn the business and yell about our great services from the rooftops!!
First mission: taking pictures of a job site in the mud and rain, wearing my favorite heels, while still looking professional. I’m always up for a challenge so let’s see what interesting pictures I can take. Jumping from one rock to another. Walking on my toes so the heels of my shoes don’t get stuck in the mud. Let’s just say that I pulled it off with flying colors if that means looking like a drowned cold cat with muddy paws. That’s such a pitiful image in your mind, isn’t it?
But all of it is worth it! I’m so proud to be a part of a company that really cares about their customers. A company that goes above and beyond to help their customers rebuild after a disaster! What will be my next mission? Tornados, roof inspecting, mopping after a flooding?
